Associate Professor
Eligibility: (i) Applicants must have a Ph.D. in the relevant, related, or concerned field and a strong academic record.
(ii) It is necessary to have a Master’s degree with at least 55% of marks, or an equivalent grade on a point system, if applicable.
(iii) It is necessary to have at least eight years of experience teaching and/or doing research at a university, an accredited research institution, or the industry in a position that is equivalent to that of an assistant professor. According to the requirements outlined in Appendix II, Table 2 of the UGC Regulations, 2018, the candidate must have a minimum of seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of seventy-five (75).
Remuneration: Negotiable based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Assistant Professor
Eligibility: (i) The candidate must have a Master’s degree in the relevant, related, or concerned discipline from an accredited Indian university with at least 55% of marks (or an equivalent grade on a point scale, if applicable), or an equivalent degree from an accredited overseas institution.
(ii) The candidate must also have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET), which is administered by the CSIR or the UGC, or an equivalent exam that has been approved by the UGC, like SLET/SET.
OR
The requirement of qualifying NET/SLET/SET will not apply to candidates who have already received a Ph.D. degree in line with the UGC Regulations (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree), 2009 or 2016, including any subsequent changes.
However, candidates who registered for the Ph.D. program before July 11, 2009, will be subject to the rules of the institution’s then-current bylaws, regulations, and ordinances. These candidates will also be exempt from the NETISLET/SET requirement for appointment as an assistant professor, provided they meet the following requirements:
(a) The candidate must have completed standard coursework to earn their Ph.D. (a) At least two external examiners must have reviewed the doctoral thesis.
It is necessary for the candidate to have passed an open Ph.D. viva voce exam.
(d) The candidates’ Ph.D. work must have been the basis for at least two research publications, at least one of which must have been published in a peer-reviewed journal.
(e) At least two papers based on the candidates’ Ph.D. work must have been presented at conferences or seminars that were sponsored, funded, or supported by the CSIR, ICSSR, UGC, or any comparable organization.
Remuneration: Negotiable based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Technical Manager
Eligibility: M.Sc. in Computer Science/ MCA With 55% marks from an Indian University/institute,
or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university
Remuneration: It can be negotiated depending on the experience and qualifications of the applicant.
Application Fee
A Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- drawn in favor of the Director, CDOE, Sambalpur University,
payable at the State Bank of India, Jyoti Vihar, must be submitted

Important Instructions for candidates:

  1. Candidates must pay for their own transportation to the interview. For this reason, no TA/DA will be paid.
  2. During the interview, candidates must present their original certificates, mark sheets, testimonies, and papers for validation.
  3. The role is just temporary, and the chosen applicant must remain on the job until May 30, 2026.
  4. The University retains the right, without providing a justification, to terminate the entire interview and selection process.

1.Associate Professor: An eminent scholar with at least 55% marks at the P.G. level in the discipline relevant to the area of specialization. Postgraduate degree in Education (M. Ed. or M.A. Education) with minimum 55% marks. Ph.D. degree in Education or in the discipline relevant to the area of specialization.
A minimum of seven (seven) publications in referred/peer-reviewed journals, as well as books and/or research/policy papers, demonstrate the candidate’s high caliber of published work and active research involvement.
Experience: Eight years or more of experience teaching in universities or colleges, doing research at the university or national level, and mentoring candidates at the PhD level are required.

In addition to meeting the requirements listed above, preference will be given to the candidate with a NET, M.Phil., or Ph.D.
Remuneration
Associate Professor: 64,000 per month
Assistant Professor: 30,000 per month
Period of appointment
Until May 30, 2026; subject to good performance, may be extended for up to five years on an annual basis with a one-day break.

Important Instructions:

  1. Contractual teachers must provide an undertaking on non-judicial stamp paper before they can, under any circumstances, apply for regular teaching positions. For all purposes, they must adhere to the University’s self-financing guidelines.
  2. The provisions of the then-current Ordinances, Bylaws, and Regulations of the Institution awarding the degrees will govern the awarding of degrees to candidates registered for the M.Phil. or Ph.D. Program prior to July 11, 2009.
  3. Ph.D. candidates will be exempt from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of “NET” for recruitment and appointment of Lecturer/Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in the University, provided that the following conditions are met: (a) The candidate’s Ph. D. degree must have been granted exclusively in regular form.(b) A minimum of two external examiners must have evaluated the Ph.D. thesis.(c) The candidate’s Ph.D. work should have produced two research publications, at least one of which should have been published in a peer-reviewed journal;(d) Two papers from the candidate’s Ph.D. work should have been presented at conferences or seminars;(e) The candidate’s open Ph.D. viva-voce must have taken place.
