NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY(NIT) ROURKELA invites applications from qualified eligible candidates for the engagement of Ad hoc faculty for Civil Engineering Dept. and Industrial Design dept.. The applicants are suggested to go through the following details of vacancy before applying the post.

Autumn 2025-26 session. Depending on the candidate’s performance and the department’s needs, this could be extended even further.
Remuneration
Candidates holding a Ph. D. degree would receive a consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 70,900.
Thesis submitted candidates will be paid Rs. 57,700/- (subject to approval from competent authority).The candidate may be entitled for Rs. 70,900/-per month after defense.
Educational Qualification
1. Ad hoc faculty (Dept. of Civil Engineering): In addition to pursuing an M. Tech. and Ph.D. in Construction Technology and Management, or equivalent, the candidate ought to have earned a B. Tech. or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
Specialization: Having specialization in Construction Technology and Management
2. Ad hoc faculty (Industrial Design): First-class B. Tech., B.E., or B. Des. degree with a Ph.D. in the appropriate field.
Candidates with Ph.D. theses may apply with a provisional defense schedule provided by the PhD supervisor.
Specialization: Animation Design, Human Factors in Design, Applied Ergonomics, Design Policy, Design Strategy, Design Management, Conceptual Design, Digital Media & Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Interaction Design, Design for UX/UI, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Product Aesthetics, Product Design, Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology, Social and Cultural Aspects of Design, Sustainable Design, Universal and Inclusive Design, Visual Design, and AI Application in Industrial Design.
