Vacancy at FM Medical College and Hospital Balasore: FAKIR MOHAN MEDICAL COLLEGE & HOSPITAL(FMMCH), BALASORE has released notification 09/05/2025 for the engagement of Senior Residents (SR), Junior Resident(JR) and Tutor on purely temporary basis.

FM Medical College and Hospital Balasore invites applications from eligible candidate for walk-in-interview in order to fill up the post of Senior Residents (SR), Junior Resident(JR) and Tutor on temporary basis. Senior Resident(SR)
Qualifications: The candidate must hold an MD, MS, DNB, or an equivalent degree in the relevant field, as required by OMES Rule/NMC in the “Minimum Qualifications for Teachers in Medical Institutions Regulations, 2022” that is notified or amended periodically in effect, in order to be considered for the position of Senior Residents (non academic) in Clinical Departments (Specialty).
Every qualification as of the counseling date will be taken into account.
Other eligibilities: 1. The applicant needs to be an Indian citizen.
2. The applicant must not be enrolled in or have finished their three-year term as a senior resident at any of the State’s government medical colleges.
3. A candidate shall not be eligible for re-engagement if their employment as a Senior Resident has been terminated by any state government medical college for any reason.
Remuneration: Each month, the candidates will receive a consolidated amount of Rs. 60,000 (Rupees Sixty Thousand only). For this positions, any further incentives announced by the Odisha government will also be relevant.
Age: The candidate must be under 45 years old on the day of joining.
Junior Residents(JR)
Qualifications: An MBBS or BDS degree, or an equivalent degree approved by MCI or DCI, as applicable, is required of candidates.
The mandatory one-year rotating internship must have been finished by the applicant.
The aforementioned credentials must have been acquired on or before to the counseling date.
Other eligibilities: i. The applicant needs to be an Indian citizen.
ii. The applicants’ medical qualifications must be registered with the Central/State Medical/Dental Council. (Ongoing Enrollment)
iii. Candidates are not eligible to apply if they have a post-graduation degree in any field or if they are currently employed or have finished their three-year term as a senior resident or tutor at any MCI/NMC-permitted, approved, or recognized institution.
iv. Applicants who are regularly employed by the OMHS cadre are not permitted to apply.

Age: The candidate must be under 69 years old on the day of joining.
Tutor
Qualifications: i. In accordance with the NMC’s periodically applicable “Minimum Qualifications for Teachers in Medical Institutions Regulations, 2022” for the position of tutor.
ii. For the position of tutor in the paraclinical and preclinical divisions. The MBBS is the prerequisite. However, candidates with postgraduate degrees in the relevant fields will be given preference, and individuals with an MBBS degree will only be taken into consideration if there are no MD, MS, MDS, or DNB candidates available in any of the aforementioned fields.

Candidates with an M.Sc. degree in medical anatomy, medical physiology, medical biochemistry, medical pharmacology, and medical microbiology, along with any other additional qualifications that the Medical Council of India may prescribe, will be the only ones considered in the relevant discipline if there are not enough MBBS-qualified candidates available. However, those with an MBBS will be given preference over those with an M.Sc.
Other eligibilities: i. The applicant needs to be an Indian citizen.
ii. The applicant must not be enrolled in or have finished their term as a senior resident or tutor at any of the State’s government medical colleges.
iii. A candidate will not be given consideration for re-engagement if their employment as a tutor has been terminated for any reason by any government medical college in the state.
Remuneration: Each month, the candidates will receive a consolidated amount of Rs. 60,000 (Rupees Sixty Thousand only). For this positions, any further incentives announced by the Odisha government will also be relevant.
Age: The candidate must be under 45 years old on the day of joining.
Nature & Tenure of appointment
The engagement will be strictly temporary, lasting one year, however it may be extended annually.

Selection process:

  1. The merit list created using career marks will be the sole basis for selection.
    The following will be the weighting for the various exams:
    20% of the overall percentage of marks earned came from HSC/Matriculation.
    20% of the grades earned are in Intermediate Science. 60% of the total percentage of marks obtained in the MBBS/BDS test.
  2. For every additional try to pass the test, one mark will be subtracted from the overall career mark.
  3. The marks earned in the topics according to the NMC/MCI administered by NBE will be used for the aforementioned merit calculation in the case of Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGE).
    The candidate’s grade will be considered 50% if they fail to present such a mark sheet.
  4. If there is a tie, it will be decided as follows: i. The candidate with the highest MBBS score will be promoted. ii. If there is still a tie, the older applicants will be given a higher ranking than the younger ones.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. The Authority retains the right to change or cancel the advertisement at any time without providing a justification.
  2. The Authority retains the right, without providing a justification, to alter the quantity of posts advertised.
