Recruitment at OAVS Angul: ODISHA ADARSHA VIDYALAYA GOPINATHPUR ANGUL has released notification on 09/05/2025 for the engagement of teachers on contractual basis for the academic session 2025-26.

ODISHA ADARSHA VIDYALAYA GOPINATHPUR ANGUL is inviting applications from eligible candidates for filling up the post of Teachers on contractual basis for the session 2025–26 or until all openings are filled, whichever comes first. The interested candidates with requisite qualifications are suggested to go through the following vacancy details before applying for the positions.

Educational Qualification
Art Teacher: The applicant should have pursued Bachelor Degree in Fine arts/ Visual arts from a recognized university.
Music Teacher: The applicant should have pursued a bachelor’s degree in music from an accredited university or an equivalent degree
PET: The applicant should have pursued Physical education degree or postgraduate degree, such as a B.P.Ed. or M.P. Ed. (a course recommended by NCTE), from an accredited university or institution
Age Limit
The minimum and maximum ages for applicants are 18 and 65 years old, respectively.

Selection Procedure:

  1. The applicant must submit an application for empanelment before the selection board. The Board will determine the candidate’s suitability.
  2. The career mark for empanelment will be taken into consideration by the Board.
  3. The following formula will be used to determine teacher empanelment scores:
    10% of the combined percentage of marks earned in the HSC (without additional optional), bachelor’s degree, and B.Ed. level or its equivalent will be used to calculate the marks.
    For instance, 6.7 points will be taken into account if an applicant received 67% on the HSC exam, and the same is true for bachelor’s degree candidates. One candidate’s calculated marks would be 6.7+6.2+7.0=19.9 if he received 67%, 62%, and 70% in the HSC, Bachelor degree, and B.Ed exams, respectively.
  4. The list of teachers who will be hired based on the Vidyalaya’s open positions will be finalized by the selection committee.

How to apply:

In order to arrive at the office by the deadline, the candidate will send their application and supporting documentation to the Principal, OAV Gopinathpur, via registered or speed post.

Terms & Conditions:

  1. Teachers hired on a contract basis will not be part of the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas’ teaching cadre and will not have any claim or entitlement to regular appointments.
  2. Teachers hired on contract will not be eligible for summer, Autumn, or winter vacation pay. Pro rata calculations will be used to determine payment.
  3. If a teacher misses work on a workday, they will not be paid. In the event that they do miss work, they will be paid pro rata.
  4. Working hours will be the same as those of a regular teacher.
  5. Once a regular or contract teacher is hired to fill the open position at OAV, the contract of these teachers will automatically expire. There will be no cap on the number of classes the teacher can teach, and they will get a monthly consolidated salary at the above amount. However, he or she works at least 20 days a month, excluding holidays.
  6. Teachers should not be permitted to teach on holidays or vacations, and they should not be involved in any examination-related activities other than the school’s internal exams.
  7. The teacher in question will also be tasked with correcting and valuing the relevant subject in the OAV; however, they will not be compensated more for this job.
  8. The teacher’s performance will be evaluated on a regular basis. The principal will immediately terminate a teacher after notifying the district education officer if it is discovered that the teacher is not functioning as expected or is involved in misbehavior.
  9. Unless the District Education Officer issues an extension order, a retired teacher who is employed under the program will be considered disengaged upon reaching the age of sixty-five.
  10. Contractual employees are entitled to a maximum of 10 days of exceptional leave throughout their one-year employment, subject to public service demands. The leave will expire at the end of each year of service and cannot be carried over to the following year.
  11. His or her engagement shall be automatically terminated if they are absent without permission for a continuous period of 15 days or more.
  12. Employees who are temporarily employed are eligible to receive daily and travel allowances of the equivalent level in the regular government service when he or she fulfills an official obligation or duty.
