NIPER Kolkata Teaching Eligibility Criteria (যোগ্যতামাপদণ্ড)

Direct Recruitment:

• Essential Qualification & Experience: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with very good academic record throughout and atleast 10 years of Teaching/ Research/ Industrial experience with published works of high quality, well recognized and established reputation of having made conspicuous seminal contributions to knowledge in Pharmaceutical, Chemical and allied areas.
• Desirable Experience:
  • Expertise in Pharmacoinformatics / computational chemistry / Cheminformatics / Bioinformatics, with strong knowledge of the development of various software and web servers in drug discovery and development.
  • Exposure to HPC (High Performance Computing) is preferable.
  • Proven publication record in molecular docking, molecular dynamics, quantum medicinal chemistry, and virtual screening/QSAR is essential (all from own independent work).
  • Experience in Artificial Intelligence in Drug Discovery is an added advantage.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with the ability to collaborate with experimental pharmaceutical scientists (in medicinal chemistry/pharmacology/pharmaceutics, etc.).
  • Experience in establishing computational facilities, software installation, system administration, bug fixing, etc. is also desirable.
  • The candidate is expected not only to conduct advanced research in Medicinal Chemistry but also to lead the Pharmacoinformatics group.
  • Candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent Research in terms of guided Master’s students and a minimum of 2 PhD students.
  • Preference will be given to the candidate having a minimum of 3 years’ experience at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent industry experience and who has completed EMR or industry-sponsored projects, technology transfers, strong record of undertaking consultancy work, patents, etc., and demonstrated excellence in teaching.
• Age Limit: Not exceeding 50 years.

Deputation:

• Qualification & Experience: Faculty members from Central/State Universities or Government Institutions of Higher Education holding analogous post on regular basis or with 5 (Five) years of regular service at the level of Associate Professor AND possessing the educational qualifications prescribed for Direct Recruitment.
• Period/Age: 3 years prior to superannuation in the parent organisation.

NIPER Kolkata Teaching Salary Details (বেতনবিবরণী)

• Pay Scale: Pay Level-14 (7th CPC)
• Allowances: The posts carry usual allowances i.e., Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA) etc. as admissible to the Central Government Employee posted Kolkata.
• Additional Benefits: Further, reimbursement of Medical Expenses, Leave Travel Concession and Children Education Allowance etc. are also available as per Govt. Of India rules.

Selection process (চয়ন प्रक्रिया) for NIPER Kolkata Recruitment

• Mode of Selection: The selection process for Teaching posts consists of two phases:
  1. Seminar Presentation
  2. Interview
• The shortlisted candidates will be invited to give a seminar presentation before a duly constituted Committee.
• Only the candidates recommended by the Committee based on their performance in the seminar presentation shall attend the Interview before the Selection Panel.
• Based on the number of candidates applying, the institute reserves the right to hold a written test and/or Interview for the post as per the suitability of the institute/norms in force.

1. Online Application:
   • Candidates are required to apply ONLINE only from 10:00 AM on 27.08.2026 to 17.09.2026 up to 06.00 PM through the official institute link: https://www.niperkolkata.edu.in/ or https://niperkrecruitment.in/mcprof/
   • Keep all data/details ready before you start filling up the Application Online.
2. Application Fee Payment:
   • An Application Fee of Rs.2000/- (Rupees Two thousand only) for a teaching post has to be paid through online mode only.
   • Fee once paid will not be refunded or re-adjusted under any circumstances.
   • Fee Exemption: No fee is required for applicants belonging to SC / ST, Persons with Disability, Women, and applicants applying on deputation.
3. Hard Copy Submission:
   • During submission of the online Application, a PDF will be generated with the completed form.
   • The complete Hard Copy Application Form (in all aspects, duly signed, along with self-attested copies of all relevant educational, experience, date of birth, degree certificates, marksheets, and category certificates) must reach the Institute on or before 30.09.2026 up to 05.00 PM by Registered / Speed Post / Courier or in person (during 11 AM to 5 PM on all working days).

Candidates must attach self-attested copies of the following documents along with the hard copy application form:

1. Self-attested copy of Date of Birth proof / Certificate.
2. Self-attested copies of Degree Certificates & Marksheets.
3. Self-attested copies of Experience Certificates (on organization letterhead bearing date of issue, specific period of work in DD/MM/YY format, nature of duties, name, designation, and signature of admin authorities).
4. Copies of documents for date of registration and date of completion of Ph.D.
5. Category Certificate / Proof (wherever applicable).
6. For candidates serving in Govt./Semi-Govt./PSUs/Autonomous organizations: “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) in the prescribed format (Annexure-I) through proper channel.

গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নির্দেশাবলী (Important instructions)

1. The applicant must be a Citizen of India.
2. Candidates should read the requisite essential qualifications, age, experience criteria, etc., laid down in the advertisement before applying.
3. Application once submitted cannot be altered/resubmitted under any circumstances.
4. Incomplete online application or Hard copy of application or those without relevant supporting documents will be rejected.
5. Mere fulfilment of minimum qualifications and experience does not entitle any candidate to receive a call letter.
6. No TA/DA and accommodation shall be provided for attending the Written test / Skill test / Interview.
7. Online Interviews can be arranged for overseas candidates only, subject to submission of a request and approval by competent authority.
8. The maximum age limit and eligibility conditions shall be reckoned for Teaching Posts as on the last date for submission of online applications i.e., on 17.09.2026.
9. Experience for Teaching post will be considered from the date of completion of Master’s Degree to the last date of online application (17.09.2026) by excluding experience gained while pursuing Ph.D.
10. Appointments under Direct Recruitment are regular in nature with a probation period of 1 (one) year.
