  • Qualification: Qualification of faculties prescribed by UGC guidelines for different categories shall be allowed for selection of faculties under this arrangement. Candidates without Ph.D qualification are eligible for Sl No. 2 at the Honorarium Table/Section.
  • Eligibility for Professor of Practice:
    • Distinguished experts who have made remarkable contribution in their professions from various fields such as engineering, science, technology, entrepreneurship, commerce, social science, media, literature, fine arts, civil services, armed forces, legal profession, community development, panchayati raj, rural development, watershed development, water-harvesting, organic farming, small green energy system, municipal planning, community participation, gender budgeting/ planning, inclusive development of tribal and public administration among others. Those who have proven expertise in their specific profession or role with at least 15 years of service/ experience, preferably at a senior level, will be eligible for Professor of Practice.
    • A formal academic qualification is not considered essential for this position if they have exemplary professional practice in lieu. These experts will also be exempted from the requirement of publications and other eligibility criteria stipulated for the recruitment of faculty members at the Professor level. However, they should possess the skills to carry out the duties and responsibilities specified in the following section.
  • Eligibility for Adjunct Professor:
    • Candidate for adjunct faculty should satisfy the following norms:-For Conventional Higher Education Courses:i. Should have the minimum qualifications as prescribed in the regulations framed by UGC/respective statutory councils from time to time ORii.   1. The vacancies against sanctioned posts in the State Public Universities can be filled up by way of engagement of retired Associate Professors/ Professors/ Adjunct/ Guest Faculties/ Professor emeritus/ Professor of Practice/ Distinguished visiting faculties on periodical basis.
  2. This arrangement shall be purely temporary and will continue till the posts are filled up by way of regular recruitment.
  3. Category of faculties:i. The vacancy of Assistant Professor can be filled up by any of the faculty mentioned at point 3 above Retired Associate Professor/Adjunct Professor/ Professor Emeritus /Professor of Practice or by way of engagement of guest faculties. However, they will be paid at as per norms of Guest faculties only as stated below in the honorarium table. (Sl.No.1 & 2).ii. The retired faculties could be from any Govt., aided or Private higher education institution of the Country possessing appropriate qualification.iii. Qualification of faculties prescribed by UGC for different categories shall be followed for selection of faculties under these arrangements.iv. Guest faculties already engaged by the Universities prior to issue of this guideline may continue at the old rate and in the old pattern against the vacant sanctioned posts. The revised honorarium would be available to the faculties engaged following this guideline.v. The honorarium of faculties engaged under this arrangement would be met out of non-salary head of the University Budget.
  4. Workload: While filling up these vacancies, The University VC and Registrar shall ensure that there is sufficient workload for filling up of such vacancies through this arrangement. If required, the VC and Registrar may submit proposal for rationalization of sanctioned posts to the Department.
  5. Tenure of engagement:i. The tenure of engagement of faculties under this arrangement shall be for a maximum period of six months or till completion of the regular recruitment process, whichever is earlier.ii. The continuation of engagement shall be subject to satisfactory performance during the quarterly review.iii. The engaged Retired Faculties may continue with the Teaching till they attain 70 years of age, subject to periodical review of satisfactory performance.

    • Postgraduate degree in Mathematics with minimum 55% marks, and ii. M. Ed degree with minimum 55% marks.
    • Desirable: NET or Ph. D Degree in Education with subject specializations.

General Guidelines Criteria (NCTE Norms for 2-Year B.Ed. Programme):

  • Perspectives in Education or Foundation Courses: Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences with minimum 55% marks, and M.Ed. degree from a recognized university with minimum 55% marks. OR Postgraduate (M.A.) degree in Education with minimum 55% marks; and B.Ed./B.El.Ed. degree with minimum 55% marks.

Salary Details (ଦରମା ବିବରଣୀ)

  • Vikram Dev University Contractual Engagement: The selected faculties will be paid remuneration @ Rs. 40000/- per month.
  • TEI Guest Faculty Honorarium Rate: Rate of honorarium to be paid to the GFC to be engaged for B.Ed. classes in Teacher Education Institutions is Rs 500/- (Rupees five hundred only) per class/lecture of 45 minutes duration subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand only) per month averaged over one academic year (limited to average 50 classes per month and to 500 classes during the year of engagement wherever possible).

  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
  • The services of GFC will be terminated after 11 months and it can’t be renewed under any circumstances, rather the institutions will make fresh advertisement in the beginning of every academic year as per their existing vacancy.
  • The Institution and the GFC applicant have the option to terminate the agreement before completion of 11 months by serving one month notice period.
  • This is a temporary engagement. Guest Faculties engaged shall not be regularised or made permanent under any circumstances. Guest Faculties can be disengaged before their prescribed tenure of 11 months if regular teachers, duly selected by Odisha Public Service Commission, join duty.
  • Candidates with vigilance case / departmental proceedings / criminal proceedings shall not be considered for engagement as GFC faculty.
