SAIL CMLO Recruitment 2026: Central Mining and Logistics Organization (CMLO), a unit of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), is inviting applications from eligible persons for engagement as Young Professionals (YPs) on a fixed-term basis for its captive mines in Bolani, Barsuan, Kalta & Taldihi under Odisha Group of Mines (OGOM).

Eligibility Criteria

All Indian nationals who have reached the age of 23 and possess the required educational/vocational qualifications and professional experience as below are eligible to apply against a mandatory requirement for engagement as Young Professionals, subject to the fulfilment of other conditions of participation.

Civil Engineer (YP-3)

  • Essential Qualification & Work Experience as on 01/10/2026: i) B.E/ B. Tech. (Full Time) Civil Engineering or equivalent from Govt. recognized University/Institute. ii) Post-qualification experience (after B.E./B.Tech.) of minimum 10 (ten) years as a Civil Engineer in execution of civil work
  • Upper Age-limit as on 01/10/2026: 42 years

Surveyor (YP-2)

  • Essential Qualification & Work Experience as on 01/10/2026: i) B.E/ B. Tech. (Full Time) Mining & Mines Survey/Mining Engineering from Govt. recognized University/Institute. ii) Valid Surveyor’s Certificate of Competency for Metalliferous Mines having opencast working under Metalliferous Mines Regulations (MMR), 1961. iii) Post-qualification experience (after B.E./B.Tech.) of minimum 06 (six) years on Survey related activities.
  • Upper Age-limit as on 01/10/2026: 38 years

IT Engineer (YP-1)

  • Essential Qualification & Work Experience as on 01/10/2026: i) B.E/ B. Tech. (Full Time) in Computer Science Engineering/ Information Technology/Computer Science & Information Technology or 3 years.
  • Upper Age-limit as on 01/10/2026: 35 years

Electronics Engineer (YP-1)

  • Essential Qualification & Work Experience as on 01/10/2026: i) B.E/ B. Tech. (Full Time) in Electronics/Electronics and Communication/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics and Instrumentation/ Automation or Instrumentation Engineering from Govt. recognized University/Institute. ii) Post-qualification experience (after B.E./B.Tech.) of minimum 03 (three) years.
  • Upper Age-limit as on 01/10/2026: 35 years

Selection Process for SAIL CMLO Recruitment 2026

  1. Shortlisting of applications: Applications received by the final date shall be examined by a screening committee for compliance with the eligibility criteria.
  2. The class is only selected via Computer Based Test (CBT) & Personal Interaction or Personal Interaction. This will be communicated to eligible applicants via the website Admit Card/Call Letter, Email/SMS and SAIL.
  3. In the case of CBT, there are 100 multiple choice questions in 2 (two) segments, i.e. 50 about technical/professional knowledge and 50 about aptitude test. The duration of the CBT would be 90 minutes. Candidates are provisionally nominated for personal interaction in the order of their earnings in a ratio of 1:3 for each class of Young Professionals. If the cut-off marks are reached by more than one candidate, all are called for personal interaction. There will be no qualifying mark in the personal interaction. For the final selection, a merit list is created by combining the markings of Computer Based Test (CBT) and Personal Interaction with the weight of 80:20. If there is a draw in the cut-off marks, the candidate with higher grades in the qualification will be selected.

The notification and the APPLICATION FORMAT can be downloaded from the company’s website www.sail.co.in under the link “Career” or www.sailcareers.com. Eligible and interested applicants should submit their duly completed, signed copy of the application in the required format via email ID recruiting.rsp@sail.in. Other means/type of application are not accepted.

Payment of Processing Fee

Candidates are required to pay Processing Fee of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) through SB Collect.

Steps to Apply

  1. The candidate must be an Indian national who holds the required qualification from an institute recognized by the State Government/Central Government.
  2. Candidates must have a valid email ID and mobile number that should remain active for at least one year.
  3. Eligible candidates must submit clearly visible scanned copies (.pdf format only) of the duly completed signed application form (Annexure-I) together with a set of self-certified copies of the required certificates/documents via email ID recruiting.rsp@sail.in with the subject “APPLICATION FOR YOUTH PROFESSIONALS FOR CMLO”.

Required Documents

Candidates must attach self-attested photocopies of the following certificates / documents along with the application format:

  1. Matriculation or equivalent certificate (for proof of Date of Birth)
  2. B.E./B.Tech/MCA Certificate and Mark sheets in the relevant discipline
  3. Experience Certificate(s) showing relevant post qualification experience
  4. For Surveyor (YP-2), Surveyor’s Certificate of Competency for Metalliferous Mines under MMR, 1961
  5. Caste/Category certificate, wherever applicable
  6. NOC from present employer, in case of regular employment, under PSUs/Autonomous Bodies/Govt. Department
  7. E-receipt of Processing Fee
  8. Photo Identity Proof (Voter ID / Aadhaar Card / Passport/ Driving License)

Important instructions

  1. The applicant shall enter his name as indicated on the enrolment certificate or equivalent examination. In the event of a name change at a later date, the necessary documentation shall be provided at the time of personal interaction.
  2. Caste/category once declared in the application cannot be changed, and no advantage of another category is subsequently allowed.
  3. The applicant should provide a clear and complete postal address for correspondence. SAIL/CMLO is not responsible for postal delays / false deliveries / non-delivery of communication at any stage of the engagement process.
  4. Candidates who are provisionally shortlisted for Personal Interaction must submit the original application form, certificates/documents in the original regarding the date of birth, caste/category, qualification, experience, NOC of the current employer, etc., as applicable at the time of Personal Interaction.
  5. The initial employment period of a Young Professional hired on a temporary basis is up to 03 (three) years, may be extended for a further period of 02 (two) years, one year each at the sole discretion of OGOM, CMLO; subject to the fulfilment of eligibility conditions and satisfactory performance. In the absence of a notification regarding the extension within the agreed deployment period, the engagement contract is automatically concluded on the last day of the deployment/extension period.
