OPSC AEE Recruitment 2026: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has published a recruitment notification for the engagement of Assistant Executive Engineers (Civil and Mechanical) under Group A of the Odisha Engineering Service Cadre. This OPSC AEE Recruitment 2026 is going to add 758 vacancies across various departments of the Government of Odisha, with the Water Resources Department functioning as the nodal department. Eligible candidates are required to submit their applications online through the OPSC official portal.

OPSC AEE Eligibility Criteria

  • KNOWLEDGE IN ODIA: A candidate must be able to read, write and speak Odia and must have passed a middle school examination with Odia as a language subject; or have passed an enrollment or equivalent examination with Odia as an examination medium in a non-language subject; or have passed in Odia as a language subject in the grade VII final examination by a school or educational institution recognised by the Government of Odisha or the Central Government; or have passed a test in Odia in Middle English School Standard conducted by the School and Mass Education Department/Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.
  • Age: A candidate must be the age of not less than 21 (twenty-one) years and not above the age of 42 (forty-two) years as at 1. have reached January 2026, i.e. he/she must be no earlier than January 2, 1984 and no later than 1. He was born in January 2005.
  • EDUCATION QUALIFICATION: A candidate must have the following qualification as at the time of application.
  • Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil): Degree in Civil Engineering from any university or institution recognized by the Government, OR Associate Member of Institutions of Civil Engineers of India.
  • Assistant Executive Engineer (Mechanical): Degree in Mechanical Engineering from any university or institution recognized by the government, OR associate member of the Institutions of Engineers of India in Mechanical Engineering.
  • GATE REQUIREMENT: Since the selection is based on the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Score, a candidate must also have a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Score in Civil Engineering (for Civil) or Mechanical Engineering (for Mechanical).
  • A GATE Score is valid for 3 (three) years. The score of GATE 2024, 2025 and 2026 is therefore only taken into account.
  • The score is valid if the candidate’s GATE sign is equal to or higher than the qualification mark of his/her category/subcategory mentioned in the GATE score card.
  • Only the QR Coded GATE Score Card is accepted for examination. No marking sheet of GATE is considered.

OPSC AEE Salary Details

  • Scale of pay in Level-12, Cell-1 of Pay Matrix as per ORSP Rules-2017, with usual dearness and other allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time.

Selection Process for OPSC AEE Recruitment 2026

  • The selection by the Commission will be on the basis of valid GATE Score and Interview taken together with GATE Score carrying 90% and Interview carrying 10% weightage respectively.
  • After receipt of the online applications, the Commission will take steps for inviting candidates of different categories to a reasonable number to be decided by the Commission on the basis of GATE Score uploaded by them strictly as per merit for document verification in phased manner for scrutiny of the validity and genuineness of their GATE Scores, other documents, eligibility and reservation claim etc.
  • After document verification, the Commission will shortlist candidates under different categories who meet all eligibility conditions and have all valid documents on basis of their scrutinised valid GATE Score in order of merit for Interview and the number of such candidates in each category will be about 2 (two) times of the advertised vacancies in that category subject to minimum of 5 (five).
  • The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of aggregate score secured by the candidates in GATE score and Interview mark taken together and the candidates in the final merit list will be equal to the number of advertised vacancies in each category.
  • If more than one candidate secures equal marks in aggregate, the merit will be determined by the marks secured in the Interview. The candidate who secures higher marks in the interview will be placed higher in the list.
  • In case of a further tie, the merit will be determined by age and the one who is older will be placed higher in the merit list than the younger.

How to Apply for OPSC AEE Recruitment 2026

  • Applicants must apply online through the relevant OPSC website https://opsc.gov.in. Requests received through a different mode will not be accepted and summarily rejected.
  • Candidates are asked to upload the scanned image of the latest passport photo along with the scanned image of his full signature and the scanned image of the Left-Hand Thumb Impression (LTI) in the online application form. Uploaded photo, pattern (full) signature and LTI must be clearly identifiable/visible.
  • Upon successful submission of the online registration, the applicant is assigned a unique “Permanent Public Service Account Number (PPSAN)”. Candidates are required to make a printout of the final submitted online registration/reregistration and final submitted online application forms and to put their signature on the declaration of submission to OPSC together with copies of the required certificates and documents when asked.

  • Commencement of online application and payment of examination fees: 22/10/2026
  • Last date/closing date for submission of Registered Online Application: 11/11/2026 till 5.00 P.M.
  • Date of Document Verification: Tentatively starting from 1st Week of December, 2026.

Required Documents for OPSC AEE Recruitment 2026

  • H.S.C. or equivalent certificate in support of declaration of age issued by the concerned Board / Council.
  • Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical) pass certificate issued by the recognized University or Institution recognized by the Government.
  • Mark-lists of all semesters/annual examinations in support of Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical) passed including fail marks, if any, issued by the concerned Board/Council/University.
  • QR Coded GATE Score Card on the subject (GATE paper) of Civil Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering, whichever applicable.
  • Caste Certificate in support of claim as SEBC / SC / ST, wherever applicable.

Important instructions

  • Since OPSC AEE Recruitment 2026 is a combined recruitment for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) for different departments of the government, candidates must select the department in order of preference in the online application form. The option once exercised is not changed.
  • Candidates applying against the SEBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category must submit the box certificate issued by the competent authority no later than 03 years before the first date of submission of the online application form (issued on or after 23.10.2023).
