National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) invites applications from qualified candidates for the recruitment of Consultant – Public Health Administration on contractual basis. Educational Qualification and Experience
Essential: Bachelor’s degree in medicine, dentistry, nursing, AYUSH, pharmacy, or related medical fields with a post-graduation degree or higher from an accredited Indian university in public health, community health, preventive & social medicine (MPH, MD, Community Medicine, Community Health Administration), MBA, or diploma in healthcare management or public health management

Additionally, MPH/MBA healthcare professionals should have at least five years of post-graduate work experience, and MD community medicine professionals should have three years, ideally in the fields of national health mission, national health programs, health planning, health policy and advocacy, public health system strengthening, or health care management.

Additionally, at least two published pieces in indexed journals constitute published work.
Proficiency in both Hindi and English.

Demonstrated expertise in bolstering the state, district, and block-level health systems and operationalizing health programs at the field level.
Experience working at the field level in a public health system, aiming to
its improvement in the management of health care. capable and experienced in both teamwork and team leadership.

Proficiency and expertise in monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, public health administration and governance, and working on public health issues at the program or policy level.
Previously, in states and aspirational districts, I have developed training modules and guidelines, participated in participatory planning, PIP appraisals, high priority districts/aspirational districts, referral transport, etc. I have also participated in or contributed to innovative activities that have produced positive results.
Has led trainings aimed at increasing capacity in a number of public health and health system domains.
Capacity to direct and lead the group while offering technical advice.
Ought to have assisted in creating an evidence-based District Health Action Plan and served as a health role model.
Desirable: Candidates with experience in similar central or state-level programs or activities will be given preference.
Experience working in secondary or primary health care at the district level or lower.
Candidates who have worked with technical support organizations or the government health system in the past will be given preference.
Research experience, data analysis abilities, and published work in public health or health systems.
Remuneration
Range of remuneration Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 1,50,000 *
Tenure
Original Agreement through March 31, 2027 (with further extensions contingent on good performance)
The candidates chosen for this interview may be given consideration for other open positions at NHSRC that call for comparable skill sets and at a suitable level.

Positions and Duties:

  1. For certain programs such as PMABHIM, XV-FC, Model Health Districts (MHD), Maternal Death Review (MDR), Child Death Review (CDR), District Hospital Strengthening, Referral transport, Medical Mobile Units, SUMAN-related activities, Aspirational Districts, IPHS, One Health, Emergency care, various aspects of Maternal and Child Health, Supportive Supervision (SS), etc., provide States with technical and handholding support.
  2. Analyze the numerous national and international documents, guidelines, research, and supporting data needed to create technical and operational guidelines.
  3. Oversee and direct the creation of guidelines, program manuals, and other materials that will help staff members and other stakeholders in the health department develop their capability.
  4. Organize recurring monitoring visits to assess state implementation status, write reports, and monitor state implementation of suggestions.
  5. To overcome implementation obstacles, evaluate and apply data and observations from field visits, HMIS, and Quarterly Progress Reports. Help States implement particular program components and PHA division tasks.
