Position Overview for Mahanadi Coalfields Limited Recruitment Sambalpur

Role: Advisor (Marketing & Sales).
Vacancies: One (01) post.
Location: MCL HQ, Sambalpur.
Duration: Initial period of one year, with a possible one-year extension based on performance and organizational needs.

Eligibility Criteria

MCL is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:

Professional Background: Retired E7 or E8 grade executives from Marketing & Sales (M&S) of Coal India Limited (CIL), its subsidiaries, or equivalent ranks from PSUs, autonomous Central/State Government organizations, or National level professional institutions.
Education: Graduate or Postgraduate degree.
Experience: * Minimum three (03) years of working experience at the Corporate level.
- Expertise in commercial matters and customer relationship management.
- Sound exposure to both domestic and international coal markets.
Age Limit: Not more than 65 years during the contract period.
Exclusion: Executives who have taken Voluntary Retirement (VRS) are not eligible.

Key Responsibilities

The Advisor will play a critical role in MCL’s commercial operations, including:

Supporting the planning and execution of marketing strategies, coal linkages (NCDP/SHAKTI Policy), and e-auctions.
Coordinating with Railways to improve rake availability and resolving logistics bottlenecks.
Identifying new domestic and export consumers and managing consumer grievance redressal.
Acting as a “Change Agent” to simplify workflows and implement best practices in M&S operations.

Compensation & Benefits

Honorarium: Consolidated monthly compensation as per the CIL Policy for each grade.
Conveyance: Company-provided transport or 5% of consolidated pay as conveyance charges.
Accommodation: Suitable company housing (subject to availability) or a consolidated monthly amount (10% to 30% of pay) based on city classification (X, Y, or Z).
Medical: Coverage under the Post Retiral Medical Benefits Scheme (for CIL retirees) or equivalent coverage for others.
Leave: 15 days of paid leave for every six months.
