Sambalpur University Assistant Professor Recruitment 2025: Sambalpur University has released notification on 04/06/2025 for the recruitment of Faculty in the level of Assistant Professor on temporary basis.

For the purpose of hiring faculty members at the temporary level of assistant professor for various subjects, Sambalpur University is accepting applications from qualified applicants through walk-in interviews. Before attending the interview, interested candidates are advised to review the following information about the position.

Educational Qualification
According to the 2018 UGC Guidelines, candidates with a post-graduate degree and a strong academic record would be taken into consideration if there are no candidates with a PhD or NET certification available.
Remuneration
1. Assistant Professor(Guest Faculty): Candidates with Ph.D. Degree and to be engaged for PG courses against the vacant post of Assistant Professor will paid Rs.1000/- per class: Max. 60 classes/month and Rs.60000/- (Max.)
2. Assistant Professor(Guest Faculty): Candidates without Ph.D. qualification for PG/UG Courses against the vacant post of Assistant Professor. Preference will be
given to candidate having qualified NET will be paid Rs.750/- per class Max. 60 classes and Rs.45000/- (Max.)
Tenure & Nature of appointment
a. Faculty members hired under this arrangement will serve until May 31, 2026, or until the position is replaced in a regular manner, whichever comes first.
b. If performance is satisfactory at the quarterly review, the engagement will continue.
c. This agreement will only be transitory in nature, and no regular, contractual, or ad hoc appointment should be made in violation of this arrangement in any way or under any circumstances.

Tasks and obligations of Guest faculty:

  1. Academic activities include conducting exams, guiding research, and instructing classes. They will have the authority to direct undergraduate and graduate students’ research projects. However, based on their credentials and expertise, they may be qualified to serve as co-guides for research projects or Guiding Ph.D.
  2. Following the guidelines set forth by the funding organization when conducting research and/or accepting sponsored research projects.
  3. Carrying out knowledge-based consulting and advising work in compliance with university regulations.
  4. Involvement, where necessary, in university and external academic and research committees. They will not, however, be qualified to hold financial or administrative positions.

Selection procedure for Sambalpur University Assistant Professor Recruitment 2025:

Candidates for recruitment into the Guest Faculty positions will be chosen based on the following evaluations:
I. General Career (i.e. HSC, Intermediate, Degree etc.): 30 Marks
II. Research Degree (i.e. M.Phil., PhD etc.): 20 Marks III. Demo Class: 15 Marks Maximum
IV. Research Publication: 15 Marks
(10 marks for International Journals, 05 marks for National Journals)
V. Viva-Voce: 20 Marks
The duration of Demo Class will be of 05-10 minutes.

(Interview for vacancy in L.R. Law College will be held in the Dept. of Law)

Documents Required: Along with fully filled in bio-data, the following documents are required:

  1. Original Mark sheets and Certificates of all Examinations.
  2. Original Evidence of Teaching Experience, if any.
  3. Original UGC (NET) Certificate (if passed).
  4. Original Ph.D. Degree Certificate. (if passed).
  5. Original Copies of all Research Publications.
  6. One set of Photocopies of all the above documents arranged in ascending order and self attested.
  7. One recent colour pass port size photograph.
