Recruitment under ECRICC Project Puri 2026: The Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department, Govt. of Odisha, is inviting applications for the recruitment of Subject Matter Specialists (SMS) for the “Enhancing Climate Resilience of India’s Coastal Communities (ECRICC)” project. This project, funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Govt. of Odisha, aims to strengthen coastal resilience through the restoration and protection of seagrass and salt marsh ecosystems.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification & Experience:
- Marine Biologist: M.Sc./M.Tech in Oceanography or Marine Science. Minimum one year of post-qualification experience in life science or marine science (experience in seagrass ecosystems is preferred).
- Plant Specialist: M.Sc. in Botany, Life Science, Environmental Science, or Coastal Ecology. Minimum one year of post-qualification experience in marine ecology, wetland ecosystems, or coastal habitat restoration. Knowledge of GIS/Remote Sensing is optional but beneficial.
2. Age Limit:
- Candidates must be between 23 to 45 years of age as of the date of the advertisement.

- Remuneration: A consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 50,000/-.
- Duration: The initial engagement is for one year, extendable based on performance and project requirements.
- Nature: These positions are purely temporary and contractual.
Subject Matter Specialist Recruitment under ECRICC Project Puri- Key Responsibilities
Selected specialists will be responsible for:
- Identifying and mapping seagrass species and potential restoration sites in the Chilika landscape.
- Developing technical protocols for transplantation and nursery development.
- Providing technical assistance for the preparation of site-specific Detailed Project Reports (DPR).
- Coordinating with IIT Bhubaneswar and project teams for effective implementation.
- Building community capacity regarding climate resilience and seagrass conservation.
