Professors: 1. A distinguished academic with a Ph.D. in the relevant, related, or related field who has produced high-caliber published work, is actively conducting research and has at least 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, and has a total research score of 120 in accordance with the requirements outlined in Appendix II, Table 20f of the UGC Regulations dated July 18, 2018. 2. At least ten years of experience as an assistant professor, associate professor, or professor in a university or college, as well as research experience at the same level at institutions at the university or national level with proof of effectively “guiding doctoral candidates. OR An exceptional professional with a Ph.D. in the relevant, allied, or applied disciplines from any academic institution (not listed above) or industry who has made a substantial contribution to the body of knowledge in the relevant, allied, or concerned discipline and can substantiate their work with documentation, as long as they have ten years of experience. Associate Professor(s): 1. A strong academic record and a Ph.D. in the relevant, related, or concerned fields. 2. A Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% of the possible points (or, if the grading system is used, an equal grade on a point scale). 3. An academic or research position equivalent to that of an assistant professor in a university, college, or accredited research institution or industry for at least eight years, with at least seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, and a total research score of seventy-five (75) according to the requirements listed in Appendix II, Table 2 of the UGC Regulations dated 18’* July, 2018. Assistant Professor: 1. A Master’s degree from an Indian institution in a relevant, related, or related field with 55% of the possible points (or an equivalent grade in a point system, wherever the grading system is used) or an equivalent degree from a recognized overseas university. 2. In addition to meeting the requirements listed above, the applicant needs to have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) administered by the CSIR or the UGC, or an equivalent exam approved by the UGC, such as SLET/SET or who currently hold or have received a Ph.D. degree in compliance with Minimum Requirements and Process for University Grants Commission Award Regulations for M.Phil./Ph.D. degrees, 2009 or 2016, and their periodic revisions thus the situation might not be covered by NET/SLET/SET. As long as applicants who signed up for the Ph.D. program before July 11, 2009, shall be subject to the terms of the bylaws, regulations, and ordinances that were in effect at the time. Ph.D. candidates and the institution that grants the degree will be exempt from the NET, SLET, and SET requirements for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions: a. The candidate’s Ph.D. degree was granted in a conventional manner. b. The Ph.D. thesis has been assessed by a minimum of two outside reviewers. c. The candidate has undergone an open Ph.D. viva voce. d. Two research publications from the candidate’s Ph.D. work have been published, out of where at least one is published in a journal with peer review. e. At least two papers based on the candidate’s Ph.D. work have been presented at conferences and seminars organized, funded, or supported by the UGC, ICSSR, CSIR, or any comparable organization. OR The Ph.D. degree was earned from a foreign university or institution that, at any one moment, was ranked among the top 500 in the World University Ranking by any of the following: (i) Quadrille Symonds (QS); (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE); or (iii) Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). |
Remuneration |

According to the payment set by the Odisha government’s HED. For at least 35 lessons per month and other tasks as delegated by the university, a retired professor will receive Rs. 50,000/-per month. For at least 35 classes per month and other tasks as delegated by the university, a retired associate professor will receive Rs. 40,000/-per month. Assistant professors (guest lecturers) have the same workload as regular faculty members, teaching at least 40 classes and handling other assignments as allocated by the university. Ph.D. holders pay Rs. 1,000 per class, whereas non-Ph.D. holders pay Rs. 750 per class. The highest salary for an assistant professor with a Ph.D. is Rs. 60,000, whereas the highest salary for an assistant professor without a Ph.D. is Rs. 45,000. However, the head of the relevant department requires to take the prior approval from the Vice-Chancellor for the month in which he/she thinks the Assistant Professor is expected to draw more than Rs. 40,000/- (without Ph.D.) and Rs.45,000/- (with Ph.D.). No other allowances or financial benefits shall be allowed. |
Selection Process:
The candidate will be selected on the following way:

- Application screening and candidate shortlisting.
- The letter of interview
- The approved selection committee’s interview.
Terms and Conditions:
- If the position is advertised again in the future, the engagement will not grant any right to regularly apply for it.
- The initial term of the engagement will be one year, but it may be extended annually for up to five years if the candidate performs satisfactorily. This will be reviewed annually until the positions are regularly filled or the candidate reaches the maximum age limit, whichever comes first.
- Engagement will only be extended if performance at the quarterly review is good.
- WeIf retired teachers are still employed, they may do so until they are 70 years old, provided they continue to work satisfactorily and are periodically evaluated.
- The University may end the agreement at any moment and without providing a justification.
- Any legal problems will be heard by the Sambalpur jurisdictional court.
- Candidates will not receive any TA or DA for attending the interview.
- The new hire must carry out the tasks that are periodically delegated by the higher-ups.
- Candidates from SC/ST and differently-abled groups will receive a 5% relaxation (i.e., 50% of marks rather than 55% marks) at the Master’s Degree level.
