Eligibilities for the candidate relating to Child Welfare Committee Odisha Recruitment of Chairperson/Members

  1. There must be at least one woman and another specialist on issues pertaining to children on the committee, which is made up of a chairperson and four additional members.
  2. A Committee member may be appointed for a maximum of two terms, none of which may be continuous.
  3. A member selected by the Selection Committee should not: (ii) have been found guilty of a crime involving moral turpitude and that conviction has not been overturned or fully pardoned for that crime, (iii) having been fired or removed from employment with the Indian or State governments, or with a company or enterprise that is owned or managed by either of these governments, (iv) having ever engaged in child labor, child maltreatment, or any other unethical behavior that violates human rights, or (v) have a full-time job that would prevent them from devoting the time and focus required to the Committee’s work in accordance with the Act and its regulations; (vi) have any conflicts of interest or be directly or indirectly connected to any child care facility while serving on the Committee. (vii) serve in any capacity within a political party while in government,

Selection procedure for Child Welfare Committee Odisha Recruitment of Chairperson/Members

i. The District Level Screening Committee, which is chaired by the Collector of the District in question or any other senior officer such as an ADM, CDO, or EO, or Zilla Parishad authorized by the Collector, will open all applications received within the allotted time in the office of the District Child Protection Unit of the District in question, in front of the applicants or their designated representative.

ii. Following a preliminary review of all the documents in light of the eligibility requirements, the original documents will be confirmed, with photocopies of the documents attached to the application form upon presentation by the applicant or, if present, their designated representative.

iii. The State Level Selection Committee will assess the applicants based on their qualifications, prior experience working with children, and in-person interactions.

iv. A panel of names will be chosen by the State Level Selection Committee and recommended to the State Government for appointment as the Committee’s chairperson or members, as appropriate, based on merit.

In order to reach the office of the District Child Protection Unit [DCPU] of the District in question during business hours on any working day by 5 PM on June 21, 2025, the candidate must submit applications in the prescribed format along with self-attested copies of relevant certificates, documents, etc., kept in a sealed cover superscribed with the words “Application for Selection as Chairperson/ Member of the Child Welfare Committee.” Applications may be sent by Speed Post or Registered Post.
