GUIDELINES FOR ENGAGEMENT OF GUEST FACULTY ON CONTRACUAL BASIS IN GOVERNMENT TEACHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION Higher Education Department. The state’s teacher education institutions are held to the highest standards by the Odisha government. However, according to NCTE, many universities are currently experiencing a lack of teaching faculty. Guidelines for filling such positions have been created in order to overcome this difficulty. This program seeks to address the faculty shortage in a short-term but efficient manner, allowing teacher education institutes to continue offering higher-quality instruction and improved learning opportunities to students. Selection process: On the proposal of a committee, the concerned principal will select the Guest Faculty on Contractual Basis (GFC). The Selection Committee will be composed of the principal of the relevant institution. The committee will be in charge of selecting GFC.. The following individuals will make up each subject’s committee. Members in the following order of preference may be invited to colleges without a teaching faculty member in the subject matter. Carcer Assessment of GFC According to the eligibility requirements According to NCTE guidelines, viva-voce testing and career marks will be used for selection. The career assessment’s weighting distribution The following is recommended: Career and Teaching experience = 70 marks Viva-voce = 30 marks Total= 100 marks Remuneration: With a maximum of Rs. 25,000 (Rupees 25,000 only) per month averaged over one academic year (limited to an average of 50 classes per month and, if feasible, to 500 classes during the year of engagement), the honorarium rate to be paid to the GEC 10 for B.Ed. classes at Teacher Education Institutions is Rs. 500 (Rupees 500 only) per 45-minute class or lecture. For example, in order to get compensated, a GFC needs to finish 500 classes in a single school year. (The monthly cap functions as a mean metric.) Each GEC faculty member’s work record for the month must be recorded in a monthly database maintained by the principal. This database must include the following information: name, subject, number of theory or theory equivalent practicals taken, and the reason for deviating from the 50 class average.Adjust classes based on the sum of 500, extra tasks completed, and remarks. The principal must make sure that the class distribution is in line with the workload estimate, which is based on 500 classes per GEC and self-consistent with the minimal number of hours needed to manage the course.
