General Instruction to Candidates for Vacancy at Watersheds Kalahandi:
The FAO collaborates with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) to tackle some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges, including biodiversity loss, climate change, land degradation, chemical pollution, and management of international waters. GEF offers financial assistance to countries to help address these issues while also advancing important development objectives, such as ensuring food security. The project operates at multiple levels: national, state, and landscape. In Odisha, it is being executed in three blocks of Kalahandi District, namely Golamunda, Koksara, and Thuamul Rampur.
The project is set to last for five years. To facilitate its implementation, the Director of Soil Conservation and Watershed Development has been appointed as the Nodal Officer for the initiative in Odisha. Four roles have been established for the execution of project activities, including District Coordinator, District Finance Expert, Agronomy Expert, and Institutions Expert, all based in Bhawanipatna. The District Project Nodal Officer (DPNO) for Watersheds in Kalahandi, located in Bhawanipatna, has been tasked with organizing walk-in interviews for the available positions.
The positions are strictly contractual, with a set monthly payment determined for different roles. Employment will last for one year or until the project concludes, whichever comes first, and may be renewed annually based on the project’s continuation and the candidate’s satisfactory performance. The individuals engaged will be required to adhere to the Conduct Rules that apply to Government Servants of Odisha. Additional benefits such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and Medical Allowance will not apply to these roles. Traveling Allowance/Daily Allowance according to the project norms will be applicable, and for this purpose, the consolidated remuneration will be considered as the basic pay to decide the eligibility for transport during their travels.
Prior approval from the Nodal Officer is necessary for external trips. These roles are entitled solely to Casual leave as per the regulations for State Government Servants, with no provision for any other type of leave. If engaged personnel wish to resign from their position, they must provide one month’s notice to the Project Director, Watersheds cum District Project Nodal Officer, GEF-7 Project. However, termination of engagement may occur at any time without the necessity of providing a reason. There will be no accountability from the Government of India, Government of Odisha, or PD, Watersheds, Kalahandi, Bhawanipatna, or IMAGE or FAO for any such termination.
The applicant age range for various positions within this project is from a minimum of 21 years to a maximum of 62 years, as of the date the advertisement is published. Candidates who are interested should attend the walk-in interview with a complete CV in the required format, along with self-attested photocopies of documents that provide proof of identity, residence, educational qualifications, experience, and other achievements, as well as a passport-sized photograph. NOTES FOR CANDIDATES:
1. The identity of candidates will be confirmed utilizing a Government-issued ID card (Aadhaar Card/ Electro Photo Identity Card/ PAN Card/ Driving License/ Passport) during the interview.
2. Candidates must arrive at the Interview Centre according to the schedule. Late arrivals, as noted in the advertisement, will not be allowed to participate in the Interview.
3. Candidates who appear without any documents will not be permitted to take part in any phase of this process.
4. Candidates who are ultimately selected will be contacted via email. Queries via email or phone from those who are not selected will not be addressed.
5. Those selected will need to provide a character certificate, medical certificate, and a no objection certificate from their current employer, if applicable, prior to the finalization of the contract.
6. Selected candidates must present original documents upon joining. If any inconsistencies or issues are discovered during the verification process, the application will be rejected immediately.
