💼 Job Profile & Responsibilities for CSO Recruitment at OPTCL Odisha

The CSO will be instrumental in ensuring the security and smooth operations across OPTCL’s vast network (198 sub-stations and approx16,915 CKT KMs of transmission line ). Key duties include:

Security Management: Planning and ensuring the execution of security arrangements, supervising security personnel, and preparing deployment yardsticks for all OPTCL units.
Theft Prevention & Investigation: Taking proactive steps to stop/minimize thefts and investigating any thefts or other issues across OPTCL units.
Law & Order: Assisting OPTCL authorities in maintaining law and order and maintaining liaison with Police and District Authorities.
Support Functions: Providing intelligence support to management , assisting in the eviction of unauthorized occupants , and facilitating support for tower installation/stringing of transmission lines in coordination with district administration.

Rank	Retired Police Personnel, not below the rank of DSP or equivalent from the Government of Odisha.

Service Record	Must have good service records and physical fitness.
Integrity Check	Officers against whom departmental proceedings or criminal cases are contemplated or pending, or who have been penalized for misconduct during the last five years preceding retirement, will not be considered.

💰 Remuneration & Tenure for CSO Recruitment at OPTCL Odisha

Fixed Remuneration: A fixed consolidated remuneration of ₹35,000/- (Rupees Thirty-five thousand only) per month.
- Alternative Option: There is also an option for drawing last pay minus pension as per Government Guidelines in deserved cases, as decided by the Corporation.
Allowances: The CSO will not be entitled to Dearness Allowance or any other Special Pay or Allowance over the consolidated remuneration.
Tenure: Initially for a period of two years , extendable based on satisfactory performance and OPTCL’s requirement.
Leave: Eligible for 10 days of leave in a calendar year (pro-rata for mid-year engagement). Unutilized leave will not be paid.
Other Benefits: Entitled to Traveling Allowance for approved tours as per prevailing norms and will be provided with a CUG SIM by OPTCL.

Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL), established on March 29, 2004, is a State-owned Power Utility in Odisha. It has an infrastructure spanning about 16,915 CKT KMs of transmission line and a network of 198 sub-stations (132 kV to 400 kV).

Job Descriptions:

Revenue Inspector (RI) responsibilities include: Preparing and maintaining a land register, ensuring OPTCL land is correctly regulated in revenue records, attending Camp Courts, supervising joint field enquiries, verifying revenue records, fixing dates for joint field enquiries, and reporting encroachments immediately.
Amin responsibilities include: Verifying Revenue Record and Map from the Local Tehsil/Record Room, conducting joint field enquiry, preparing documents for land lease/acquisition, pursuing registration of lease/L.A. cases, assisting the RI for demarcation/taking possession, and identifying encroachers.

3. Eligibility Conditions- Recruitment at OPTCL Odisha 2025

Candidates must be Retired RIs or Amins for the respective contractual engagement.
The age should not be above 63 years as on 01.10.2025.
Must have good service records and be physically fit.
Candidates will not be considered if departmental proceedings or criminal cases are contemplated/pending against them, or if they were penalized for misconduct during the last five years preceding retirement.

4. Mode of Selection for Recruitment at OPTCL Odisha

Selection will be made through personal interview by a Selection Committee.

5. Tenure, Terms & Conditions

Tenure: Initially for a period of two years, extendable based on satisfactory performance and OPTCL’s requirement.
Remuneration: A fixed consolidated remuneration of Rs. 30,000/- per month or the remuneration equal to the amount of Last pay minus pension, whichever is higher.
Allowances: Not entitled to Dearness Allowance or any other Special Pay or Allowance, but will receive Traveling Allowance for approved tours. A CUG SIM will be provided.
Work Status: Full-time engagement; engaged RIs/Amins shall not accept any other paid engagement.
Termination: Engagement can be terminated by the Corporation with one month notice for unsatisfactory performance. It can be terminated without prior notice in case of misconduct (e.g., misappropriation, negligence).
Leave: Eligible for 10 days of leave in a calendar year; leave will not be carried forward, and no payment will be made for unutilized leave.
