Salary and Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be placed in the following pay matrix:
- Pay Level: Level 14 of the $7^{th}$ CPC Pay Matrix
- Pay Scale: Rs. 37,400 – 67,000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 10,000 (Pre-revised PB-4)
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
Applicants must possess one of the following from a recognized university:
- Master’s Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Applied Economics, Business, Finance, Industrial Economics, or Energy Planning and Economics.
- OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- Desirable: A Doctorate degree in the above-mentioned fields or post-doctorate research in Energy Management/Efficiency.
Experience Requirements
- Total Experience: Minimum of 16 years in research, development, design, industrial, or academic activities within Government, PSUs, Universities, or Autonomous bodies.
- Specific Experience: Out of the total experience, at least 2 years must be at a senior level in energy planning or management, specifically involving large industries under the Energy Conservation Act, 2001.
Service Conditions
Candidates must be officers from Central/State Govts, UTs, PSUs, or Research Institutions:
- Holding an analogous post on a regular basis.
- OR having 3 years of regular service in Pay Level 13 (Grade Pay Rs. 8,700).
Age Limit (as on closing date)
- For Deputation: Maximum 56 years.
- For Short Term Contract: Maximum 50 years.
Key Responsibilities
The Deputy Director General (Technical) will be responsible for:
- Implementing the Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT) mechanism.
- Developing energy consumption norms and standards for Designated Consumers (DCs).
- Managing the issuance and trading of Energy Savings Certificates (ESCerts).
- Coordinating with State Governments, Ministries, and international bodies for energy conservation best practices.
