Eligibility (A or B)- Recruitment at Bharati College New Delhi 2025

Candidates must fulfill either Eligibility A or Eligibility B:

A. Standard Eligibility (Master’s + NET)

  1. A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
  2. The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR.
    • Exemption from NET shall be granted in accordance with clauses (ii) & (iii) of the General Note.

OR

B. Foreign Ph.D. Exemption

  • The Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign University/Institution with a ranking among the top 500 in the world University ranking (at any time) by any one of the following:
    • Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)
    • The Times Higher Education (THE)
    • The Academic Ranking Of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai)

2. General Notes and Exemptions- Recruitment at Bharati College New Delhi 2025

A. Ph.D. Exemptions from NET

The NET shall be the minimum eligibility for appointment of Assistant Professor. However, the following Ph.D. holders are exempted:

  • Ph.D. under 2009 or 2016 UGC Regulations: Candidates awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations of 2009 or 2016 (and subsequent amendments) are exempted from the NET requirement.
  • Ph.D. Registered before July 11, 2009: Candidates registered for the M.Phil/Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, are governed by the then existing Ordinances/Regulations and are exempted from NET, provided they fulfill all of the following conditions:
    • The Ph.D. degree was awarded in regular mode only.
    • The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners.
    • An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted.
    • The candidate has published two research papers from their Ph.D. work, with at least one in a refereed journal.
    • The candidate has presented at least two papers based on their Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or any similar agency.
    • The fulfillment of these conditions must be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.
  • Disciplines without NET: Clearing of NET is not required for candidates in such disciplines for which NET has not been conducted.

B. Relaxation in Marks

  • A minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent grade) at the Master’s level is the essential qualification for direct recruitment.
  • A relaxation of 5% (i.e., from 55% to 50% marks) shall be allowed at the Bachelor’s as well as at the Master’s level for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently Abled (PwBD).
  • A relaxation of 5% (from 55% to 50%) may be provided to Ph.D. Degree holders who obtained their Master’s Degree prior to September 19, 1991.

C. Selection and Experience for Recruitment at Bharati College New Delhi 2025

  • The direct recruitment shall be on the basis of merit through an all-India advertisement and selection by a duly constituted Selection Committee.
  • The academic score (as specified in the screening guidelines) shall be considered only for short-listing candidates for the interview.
  • The final selection shall be based only on the performance in the interview.
  • The time taken to acquire M.Phil. and/or Ph.D. Degree shall not be considered as teaching/research experience for appointment.
  • The period of active service spent on pursuing a research degree simultaneously with a teaching assignment (without taking any kind of leave) shall be counted as teaching experience for direct recruitment/promotion.
  • The number of candidates called for the interview shall be determined after screening of applications in accordance with the guidelines annexed with the advertisement.
