Educational Qualifications
1. Lower Division Clerk (LDC)
- 12th Class or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
- Typing speed: 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi on computer.
2. Junior Hydrographic Surveyor (JHS)
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering with 3 years’ experience in Hydrographic/Land Survey or SR I/II of the Indian Navy with 7 years’ experience in Hydrography and Navigation.
- Desirable: Computer programming knowledge.
3. Senior Accounts Officer
- Degree with professional qualification in Chartered Accountancy, Cost Works Accountancy, or SAS (Commercial) of Indian Audit & Accounts Department.
- 3 years’ experience in supervisory finance/accounts role in Govt./Semi-Govt./Reputed organization.
- Desirable: Degree/Diploma in Business Management.
Age Relaxation
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD (General): 10 years
- PwBD (OBC): 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
- Ex-servicemen: 5 years
- Central Govt employees (Group A/B): 5 years; (Group C): up to 40 years (45 years for SC/ST)

- Final selection based on performance in the following:
- LDC:Â Computer Based Test (CBT) +Â Typing Skill Test
- JHS:Â CBT
- Sr. Accounts Officer:Â CBT +Â Interview
- Qualifying Marks:
- UR: 45%
- OBC/EWS: 40%
- SC/ST/PwD: 35%
- Exam Centres:Â Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Guwahati, Patna, Kochi.
- Exam Mode:Â Computer-Based Online Test (Dec 2025 tentative).
- Admit Cards:Â To be downloaded from IWAI website only.
- Merit List: Prepared based on CBT performance; in tie cases – marks in Part A, then date of birth.
- No re-evaluation or re-checking of marks.
