IMA Bhubaneswar Recruitment 2025: Institute of Mathematics and Applications, (IMA) Bhubaneswar has released notification on 21/05/2025 for the engagement for the post of Professor & Post Doctoral Fellow in their organization.

Qualification & Experience

1. Professor(Mathematics): i)A distinguished researcher who holds a Ph.D. in a relevant field (mathematics), allied fields (statistics and computer science), and has produced high-caliber published work, at least ten research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, and a total research score of 120
ii)At least ten years of experience as an assistant professor, associate professor, or professor in a university or college, as well as research experience at the institution or national level with proof of effectively mentoring a PhD candidate.
OR
An exceptional professional with a Ph.D. in the relevant, allied, or applied field (such as statistics or computer science) from any academic institution (not listed in A above) or industry who has significantly advanced knowledge in the relevant field, backed up by documentation, as long as they have ten years of experience.
2. Post Doctoral Fellow(PDF): Young mathematicians ought to have earned a doctorate in mathematics. Mathematicians under 35 with a doctorate or comparable published research experience make up the IMA PDFS. Applicants may also be those who have turned in their doctoral dissertations.

Selection Procedure:

Post Doctoral Fellow(PDF): The planned research project will be presented, and the shortlisted candidates will then be interviewed before being selected as IMA Post Doctoral Fellows.

General Instructions for Post Doctoral Fellow(PDF):

Office supplies and furniture cannot be purchased with any money. Foreign travel and other visitation-abroad costs are not eligible for the Contingency Grant.
The government of Odisha has made the House Rent Allowance permissible.
A monthly allowance of Rs. 2,000 for readers (exclusively for those with vision impairments).
Wherever possible, hostel or subsidized housing should be made available to the post-doctoral fellow. In the absence of this, a dwelling rent allowance in accordance with government regulations will be given.

General Instructions for Professor(Mathematics):

Candidates must pay for their own transportation to the interview. For this purpose, no T. A., D. A., etc., will be paid. For the API score to be verified, they might have to report a day in advance.
During the interview, candidates must present their original certificates, mark sheets, testimonials, and other supporting documentation for validation.
SC/ST candidates must present a valid certificate issued by the competent authority of the ODISHA government.
At least five days prior to the interview date, in-service candidates should make sure that the Director of the Institute of Mathematics and Applications receives the CCR/Performance Appraisal Report for the last five years in a secret manner.
The candidate should include individual certificates from the institution’s head attesting to the number of years of P.G. degree, honors, and/or general teaching experience, together with the date and the institution’s name.
Experience-supporting certificates for all positions must be in the correct format, meaning they must be on the letterhead of the issuing organization and include the date of issuance, the precise time period of work, the name, and the designation of the granting authority.
Unless otherwise allowed, selected candidates must start their positions within a month of the appointment order’s date of issuance.
The candidate must fully sign each page of the application form and its enclosures to verify their authenticity.
Applications that are not submitted in the required format or in an incomplete form will be denied.
The institution is under no obligation to call a candidate for an interview or to schedule an appointment only because this advertisement is published or an interview is held.
The Director should be addressed by designation rather than by name in all correspondence pertaining to the appointment.
Only when accompanied by a pertinent certificate from the appropriate authority and to the authority’s satisfaction will marks be given for a certain item.
Without providing a reason, the institution retains the right to shortlist qualified applicants or to end the interview or selection process altogether.
