Heavy Vehicles Factory Recruitment 2026: Heavy Vehicles Factory (HVF), Avadi, Chennai—a unit of Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL)—is inviting offline applications from eligible Indian Ex-Servicemen for the post of Technician (Tank Driver AFV). These positions are for Fixed Term Employment on a contract basis.

Eligibility Criteria- Heavy Vehicles Factory Recruitment
- Target Group: Only Indian Ex-Servicemen.
- Educational Qualification: * Must have retired from the Indian Army.
- Must possess a Grade-I certificate in the trade issued by ACC & S Ahmednagar (Armoured Corps Centre & School).
- Experience: Must have knowledge and skills in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting Armoured Fighting Vehicles such as T-72, T-90, or MBT.
- Age Limit: The upper age limit is 50 years as of the closing date of the application.
- Health: Candidates must be fit and healthy to suit the job requirements.
Remuneration & Benefits- Heavy Vehicles Factory Recruitment
Selected candidates will receive the following monthly remuneration:
- Basic Pay: Rs. 23,000/-.
- Allowances: Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) as applicable, plus a Special Allowance (5% of Basic Pay).
- Other Benefits: Rs. 3,000 per month for medical/accident insurance, conveyance, and telephone facilities.
- Increment: An annual increment of 3% on basic pay upon successful completion of the previous term.
- Statutory Benefits: Includes Provident Fund (EPF) and Gratuity as per rules.
Selection Process for Heavy Vehicles Factory Recruitment
- Shortlisting: Based on preference given to Ex-Servicemen previously engaged as Tank Drivers in HVF. Younger candidates receive preference if other criteria are equal.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must undergo verification of original certificates at HVF, Chennai.
- Trade Test: Candidates clearing document verification will undergo a Trade Test (Practical) at Avadi, Chennai. This test is qualifying in nature (FIT/UNFIT).
Contract Duration- Heavy Vehicles Factory Recruitment
The initial engagement is for one year. This may be extended up to a maximum of four years (including the initial year) based on performance and functional requirements.
