Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the post of Counsellor, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Qualification: * Must hold a Master’s Degree in Social Science, preferably in Sociology or Psychology.
- Experience: * Minimum of three years of experience in family counseling.
- Note: If such candidates are not available, individuals over 35 years old with a degree in Social Science and experience in social service/child care welfare may be considered.
- Language Proficiency: Must be able to speak, read, and write Odia and have passed an Odia test equivalent to M.E. Standard.
- General Requirements: * Must be a citizen of India.
- Must have a sound physique and be free from communicable diseases.
- Must not have more than one spouse living.
- Must have no criminal cases pending.
Roles and Responsibilities
As per Rule-8 of the Family Courts (Orissa) Rules, 1990, the Counsellor is responsible for:
- Assisting and advising parties to settle disputes.
- Helping parties arrive at a reconciliation.
