
ASO recruitment under OPSC 2025: ODISHA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION(OPSC) has issued official notification on 01/05/2025 for the recruitment of 29 numbers of Assistant Section Officer(ASO) in the Office of the Advocate General, Cuttack , Odisha.
OPSC invites online applications from the eligible candidates for filling up the post of ASO and the candidates are required to go through the vacancy details before applying the position.

A candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited university, or equivalent degree, and meet the requirements for computer application competence. |
Age Criteria |

On the first day of January 2025, a candidate must be at least 21 (twenty-one) years old and not “over the age of 32 (Thirty-Two) years, i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than 2 January 1993 and not later than 1 January 2004.” a. With an exception that the above-mentioned upper age limit will be lowered by five (05) years for applicants who fall under the Scheduled Caste (S.C.), Scheduled Tribe (S.T.), Women, and Ex-Servicemen categories, and by ten (10) years for individuals with disabilities whose permanent disability is forty percent (40%) or higher. b. Individuals with impairments who fall under the SC/ST categories are entitled to a fifteen-year(15) cumulative age relaxation benefit. |

The following steps will be taken in order to conduct the competitive examination for the positions of Assistant Section Officer: (i) 400-mark written test with multiple-choice, objective-type questions and there will be three (03) papers in the written test, totaling 400 Marks (ii) Computer Skill Test (Practical-Qualifying) -50 Marks |
Examination Zone |

The written exam for the positions of Assistant Section Officer will be held in the following sirt zones of Odisha: Balasore, Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jeypore, and Sambalpur. When completing the online application form, candidates must choose 02 (two) zones in order of preference where they would like to take the test. The Commission may, at its discretion, assign the zone of second preference on a first-come, first-served basis when circumstances so justify, even if every attempt will be made to place candidates in the zone of their first choice. |

- Candidates must apply online via the relevant OPSC website. Applications submitted in any other way will be summarily dismissed.
- Candidates must read the comprehensive guidelines accessible at OPSC Portal before completing the online application form.
- The applicant will be given a unique “Permanent Public Service Account Number (PPSAN)” upon successful completion of the online registration process. Candidates must print out their completed online application forms, sign the declaration, and send it to OPSC with copies of the necessary certificates and supporting documentation as requested.
- To avoid the last-minute rush, candidates should submit their online application forms well in advance rather than waiting for the closing day.
