The Walk-in Interview for both Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Senior Resident – Psychiatry will be held on 15/10/2025 at 10:00 AM in the Seminar Room, OPD Block, 1st Floor, Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

Notes:

The schedule mentioned above are indicating in nature. The candidates are advised to make themselves available for whole day at the date of interview.

Qualification and Experience:
- 1. A medical Qualification included in the I or II schedule or part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (Persons possessing qualifications included in part II of third schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in section 13(3) of the Act.)
  1. A postgraduate qualification e.g. MD or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/subject i.e., Psychiatry.
- Experience: Three years teaching and/or research experience in recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D. or qualification recognized equivalent thereto.

2. Senior Resident – Psychiatry (01 Post)

Process of selection AIIMS Bhubaneswar Recruitment: Walk-in-Interview
Eligibility:
- A Postgraduate Medical degree viz. Eligibility: MD/DNB in their respective disciplines (Psychiatry) recognized by MCI /institute of National Importance.
- Only those candidates who have been declared passed in the post-Graduate degree i.e.- MD/DNB (Psychiatry) (as applicable) will be eligible to be considered.
- However, in case of those who have appeared for exam. / Viva voce and result are yet to be declared then applicant will be allowed to appear in theory and / or interview provisionally.
- In such cases, a bonafide certificate duly signed by the Head of the institute/ Competent authority regarding continuation of the course and probable date of completion of tenure may be produced / uploaded in the online application.
- In cases, where pass certificate of qualifying exam is not submitted at the time of joining, the candidature of such selected candidates will stand cancelled and no claim for Joining on the basis of selection will be entrained.

Important Notes:

The above vacancies are provisional and subject to variation. The Executive Director, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar reserves the right to vary the vacancies including reserved vacancies as per the Govt. of India Rules/Circulars and requirements.
The cut-off date for determining the maximum age limit, essential qualifications, and requisite experience will 15.10.2025 (THE DATE OF INTERVIEW).
The candidature of all the candidates for interview is purely provisional subject to verification and fulfillment of the eligibility criteria with regards to age, essential qualification, experience certificate. No objection certificate from their current employer, certificate of registration with national or state medical councils, and reservation certificate if applicable etc. and if they are found ineligible at any stage, their candidature will be cancelled.
The period of engagement will be for a period of 11 (eleven) months. The engagement will be purely on contractual basis and it will not bestow any rights implicitly or explicitly upon the candidate to claim any permanent absorption or any liability to the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar on termination of the contract.
The period of contractual engagement can be terminated by the candidate within 1 month of notice period or remuneration in lieu of the notice period, if he/she resigns from the post prematurely. However, Institute will have the rights to terminate the engagement at any time without citing any reasons.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Personal Interview.
Candidates coming for interview are also requested to bring filled-in application form along with photocopies of all necessary documents as well as original documents with a valid photo identification card viz. Voter Identity Card, Driving license, PAN Card, Passport, Aadhaar Card ete.
Candidates should come prepared with a PowerPoint (CD/Pen drive containing PPT only) on their work/major achievements, not exceeding five minutes covering the following aspects: First slide – Name and Service/Innovations, Research/Publications, and Major recognitions/awards (one slide each).
The prescribed qualification is minimum and mere possessing the same does not entitle any candidate for selection. The methodology of Selection will be decided by the Selection Committee as deemed fit besides any other matter relating to the selection process.
Canvassing in favor of candidature both direct and indirect is strictly prohibited. Violation of this code of conduct will be brought to the notice of the Selection Committee, besides the Institute reserves the right to cancel candidature of such offending candidate at any point of time, if there is sufficient evidence of canvassing. The decision of Competent Authority in this regard will be treated as final.
AIIMS, Bhubaneswar decision is final: The decision of the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the applications, penalty for false information, mode of selection , methodologies for the selection, and allotment of posts to selected candidates will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry / correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous Institute of National Importance, is among the newly established AIIMS under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. Set up under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), the institute aims to bridge regional gaps in advanced healthcare services while ensuring self-reliance in medical education and training at undergraduate, postgraduate, and higher levels.

Eligibility Criteria

For General Medical Disciplines:

Medical qualification included in the I or II Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (Candidates with qualifications in Part II must meet conditions under Section 13(3) of the Act).
Postgraduate qualification such as MD/MS or equivalent in the relevant subject.
Experience: At least 3 years of teaching and/or research in a recognized institution in the relevant specialty after obtaining MD/MS (or equivalent).

For Super Specialty Disciplines:

Medical qualification as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (same as above).
Postgraduate qualification such as MD/MS or equivalent.
D.M. (Medical Super Specialties) or M.Ch. (Surgical Super Specialties) – recognized course of 2/3/5 years, or equivalent qualification.
Experience:
- One year of teaching and/or research in a recognized institution after obtaining D.M./M.Ch. (for 2- or 5-year courses after MBBS).
- No experience required for candidates with a 3-year D.M./M.Ch. qualification.

Remuneration

Selection Procedure for AIIMS Bhubaneswar Recruitment 2025/ Admission to PDF:

Only when the number of candidates exceeds three times the number of advertised positions will a written exam be held. However, there won’t be a written exam for the position for which there are fewer applications than there are openings. Which posts will have a written test and which won’t will be determined at the discretion of the director of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. The decision made in this regard shall be final.

General Instruction the candidates relating to AIIMS Bhubaneswar Recruitment 2025/ Admission to PDF:

The candidate may apply for up to three departments out of the enlisted departments; however, they must apply separately for each department. The applicant must, however, pay the application cost for each position separately.
The combined scores from the written exam and the personal interview, or just the personal interview, as applicable, will be used to create the merit list (chosen and waiting list). Attending the interview will not result in any TA/DA compensation.
Only through the appropriate method should candidates who work for the government, semi-government, or PSU apply. If chosen, the in-service candidates won’t be allowed to join until they have a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer. In this regard, it is stated that the Senior Residency Scheme’s terms and conditions stipulate that their participation must be governed by the CCS (Temporary Service Rules). According to rule 1(3) of the CCS (TSR), these regulations will be applicable to all individuals who hold civil posts, including civilians who are paid from the defense service estimate under the Indian government and who are subject to the president’s rule-making authority, but who do not have a lien or suspended lien on any position under the Indian or State governments.
