OPSC Ayurvedic Medical Officer Recruitment 2026: ODISHA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (OPSC) invites online applications from the eligible prospective candidates for recruitment to 32 (Thirty-two) posts of Ayurvedic Medical Officer in the rank of Group – B of Odisha Ayurvedic Medical Service under Health & Family Welfare Department. The recruitment is to be conducted according to provisions mentioned in the Odisha Ayurvedic Medical Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2013 and the Odisha Ayurvedic Medical Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Amendment Rules, 2024. Eligibility Criteria (ଯୋଗ୍ୟତା ମାପଦଣ୍ଡ)
1. AGE
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 (twenty-one) years and must not be above the age of 42 (Forty-two) years on the 1st day of January, 2026 i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1984 and not later than 1st January, 2005.
Provided that the upper age limit prescribed above shall be relaxed by five (05) years for candidates belonging to the categories of Socially & Educationally Backward Classes (S.E.B.C.), Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.), Women & Ex-Servicemen and by 10 (Ten) years for Persons with Disabilities whose permanent disability is forty percent (40%) or more.
Persons with Disabilities belonging to SEBC/ SC/ ST categories are eligible for cumulative age relaxation benefit upto fifteen (15) years.
2. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
A candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) or equivalent Degree from an University or Institution recognized by Central Council of Indian Medicine. He must have registered himself/ herself under the Odisha State Council of Ayurvedic Medicines. Provisional Medical Registration Certificate will not be entertained.
NOTE:
- (i) The candidate must have completed his/her compulsory rotatory internship/ Housemanship within the last date of submission of Online Application Form.
- (ii) The Registration Certificate under Odisha State Council of Ayurvedic Medicines must have been issued prior to the last date of submission of Online Application Form.
3. KNOWLEDGE IN ODIA
A candidate must be able to speak, read and write Odia and must have:
- i) Passed M.E. School or higher examination with Odia as a language subject; or
- ii) Passed Matriculation or equivalent examination with Odia as a medium of examination in non-language subject; or
- iii) Passed in Odia as a language subject in the final examination of Class VII from a school or educational institution recognized by the Government of Odisha or the Central Government; or
- iv) Passed a test in Odia in Middle English School standard conducted by the School & Mass Education Department of the Government of Odisha / Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.
4. OTHER ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
- (i) The candidate must be a citizen of India;
- (ii) A candidate if married must not have more than one spouse living provided that the State Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such person or there are other grounds for doing so, exempt any person from the operation of this rule.
- (iii) Government servants, whether temporary or permanent, are eligible to apply provided that they possess the requisite qualification and are within the prescribed age-limit as provided under Para-3 & 4 of the Advertisement. They must inform their respective Head of Offices in writing regarding submission of their applications for this recruitment and furnish “No Objection Certificate” during document verification. So the candidates must obtain NOC well in advance;
- (iv) If a candidate has at any time, been debarred for a certain period/chance(s) by the Odisha Public Service Commission or other State Public Service Commission or U.P.S.C. from appearing at any examination/ viva voce test, he/she will not be eligible for such recruitment for that specified period/chance(s).
- (v) A candidate must have to register himself/ herself under the Odisha State Council of Ayurvedic Medicines on or before the Last date of Submission of online application form.
- (vi) A candidate who claims change in his/her name after having passed the High School Certificate Examination or equivalent examination, is required to furnish copy of publication of the changed name in local leading daily newspaper as well as copy of notification in the Gazette in support of his/her change of name.
- (vii) Only those candidates, who possess the requisite qualifications, are within the prescribed age limit & fulfil other eligibility conditions strictly etc. by the closing date of submission of online application form, will be considered eligible;
- (viii) Every candidate selected for appointment shall be examined by the Medical Board. A candidate, who does not satisfy the requirement after medical examination, shall not be appointed to the service.
Salary Details (ଦରମା ବିବରଣୀ)
- Scale of Pay: Rs. 44,900/- (Level 10, Cell -1 of Pay Matrix under Rule-3 of the ORSP Rules, 2017).
- Allowances: Usual Dearness and other Allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time.

ଚୟନ ପ୍ରକ୍ରିୟା (Selection Process)
- a) The selection of candidates for recruitment to the posts of Ayurvedic Medical Officers shall be made on the basis of Written Examination.
- b) The total marks for the written examination shall be 200.
- c) There shall be two papers i.e., Paper-I & Paper-II, each consisting of 100 questions and carrying 100 marks.
- d) The duration of each paper shall be 1 1/2 hour.
- e) For each wrong answer 0.25 marks shall be deducted from the total marks awarded for correct answers.
- f) The questions paper will be objective with Multiple Choice Questions as per BAMS Curriculum.
- g) The course syllabus is appended at Annexure-A of this advertisement.
The Commission shall prepare a list of successful candidates in order of merit on the basis of Written Examination, which shall be equal to the number of advertised vacancies.
Provided that, if two or more candidates secure equal marks then the candidate securing higher marks in the BAMS Examination shall find place above the others in the merit list and in case marks obtained in BAMS examination is also the same, the candidate elder in age shall be placed above the younger.
Note:
- i) The qualifying mark is 50% for UR & SEBC candidates and 45% for PwD category and 40% for ST & SC category of candidates.
- ii) Any details relating to this recruitment like cut-off marks, answer keys, individual marks etc. shall only be declared on the website of the Commission after publication of the final results and select list.
ଆବେଦନ କରିବାର ପ୍ରଣାଳୀ (How to Apply)
- a) Candidates must carefully go through the details of this Advertisement available in the Website of OPSC before filling up online application form.
- b) Candidates must apply online through the concerned Website of the OPSC http://opsc.gov.in. Applications received through any other mode would not be accepted and summarily rejected.
- c) Before filling up the online application form, the candidates must go through detailed instructions available at OPSC portal.
- d) The online application form is automated and system driven & will guide the candidate seamlessly in filling the application. The requisite options shall be enabled and information shall be asked as per data furnished by the candidate. Before filling up the information, ensure that accurate information is fed. The candidate must also verify the submitted copy of online application after its submission. If the candidate further wants to modify any information, she/he has to cancel the application and apply again within the last date of submission of application.
- e) Candidates are requested to upload the scanned image of latest passport size photograph along with scanned image of his/her full signature and scanned image of Left-hand Thumb Impression (LTI) in the online application form. Uploaded photograph, Specimen (full) signature and LTI must be clearly identifiable / visible; otherwise, the application of the candidate is liable to be rejected by the Commission and no representation from the candidate will be entertained.
- f) Candidates should keep at least four copies of latest passport size photograph which is uploaded to the online application form for future use.
- g) On successful submission of the online Registration, a unique “Permanent Public Service Account Number (PPSAN)” will be assigned to the applicant. Candidates are required to take a printout of the finally submitted online Registration/Re-registration and finally submitted Online Application forms and put his/her signature under the declaration for submission to OPSC along with copies of requisite certificate & documents as and when asked.
EXAMINATION FEE:
The candidates other than SC, ST and PWD category shall have to pay the examination fee amounting to Rs. 700/- (Rupees Seven Hundred) only through online mode while filling the Online Application Form. The examination fees paid shall be refunded only to those candidates who actually appear the Written Examination. Applications without payment of examination fees (except SC/ ST/ PWD candidates) will be taken as incomplete and outrightly be rejected.

ଆବଶ୍ୟକୀୟ ଦଲିଲପତ୍ର (Required Documents)
Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be required to bring with them the hard copy of online application form along with copies of following certificates/documents and originals of the same for verification of their eligibility:
The candidates are required to mention on each copy of documents “Submitted by me and Certified as Genuine and has not been cancelled” and put their full signature and date on the same. They must not attach the original certificates to their applications.
- (i) Four (04) recent passport size photographs within six months (unsigned & unattested) which has been uploaded with online application form;
- (ii) H.S.C. or equivalent certificate in support of declaration of age issued by the concerned Board/Council;
- (iii) B.A.M.S. Degree Certificate issued by the concerned University;
- (iv) Mark-lists in support of B.A.M.S. Degree passed including fail marks, if any, issued by the concerned Board/ Council/ University;
- (v) Permanent Medical Registration Certificate under the Odisha State Council of Ayurvedic Medicines. (Provisional Registration shall not be entertained).
- (vi) Compulsory Rotatory Housemanship/ Internship Completion Certificate within last date of submission of online application form.
- (vii) Caste Certificate by birth in support of claim as S.E.B.Cs./ S.Cs./ S.Ts. wherever applicable;
- (viii) Required Odia Test Pass Certificate / Certificate issued by School Principal in case passed in Odia Language in Class-VII or Middle English School Standard / Certificate issued by Board of Secondary Education, Odisha;
- (ix) Permanent Disability Certificate (indicating percentage disability i.e., 40% or more) issued by the concerned Medical Board wherever applicable;
- (x) Ex-Servicemen claiming age relaxation are required to submit/ upload Release Certificate issued as per Orissa Ex-Servicemen (Recruitment to State Civil Services and Posts) Rules, 1985 vide GA Department. Notification No. 22586/Gen, dt. 16.10.1985;
- (xi) No Objection Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in case of a Government servant.
- (xii) If a candidate claims to possess qualification, equivalent to the prescribed qualification, the rule/authority (with number and date) under which it is so treated, must be furnished with the Application Form.
- (xiii) Any proof of photo Identity.
ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶାବଳୀ (Important instructions)
- a) The provisions of the Odisha Conduct of Examination Act, 1988 (Odisha Act-2 of 1988) are applicable to the examination conducted by the Odisha Public Service Commission. Any violation of the above Act and violation of “Instructions to candidates” (as provided in the advertisement, application form, Brochure, Admission Certificate & Answer Script etc.) will be seriously viewed and disciplinary action will be taken against the concerned candidates as deemed proper.
- b) A candidate found guilty of seeking support for his/her candidature by offering illegal gratification or applying pressure on any person connected with the conduct of the recruitment process or found indulging in any type of malpractice in course of the selection or otherwise, shall, in addition to rendering himself/herself liable to criminal prosecution, be disqualified not only for the recruitment for which he/she is a candidate, but also may be debarred, either permanently or for a specified period, from any recruitment or selection to be conducted by the Commission;
- c) Online applications submitted to OPSC, if found to be incomplete in any respect, are liable for rejection without entertaining any correspondence with the applicants on that score;
- d) Admission to Written Examination / Document Verification will be provisional. If on verification at any stage before or after the Written Examination/ Document Verification Publication, it is found that a candidate does not fulfil all the eligibility conditions, his/her candidature will be liable for rejection. Decision of the Commission with regard to eligibility or otherwise of a candidate shall be final;
- e) This advertisement should not be construed as binding on the Appointing Authority to make an appointment.
- f) Reservation and Relaxation etc. meant for S.C. / S.T. by Birth and SEBC are admissible to the Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes and Socially & Educationally Backward Classes of Odisha only;
- g) Community (caste status) once mentioned by the candidates under the appropriate box of the online application form, will be treated as final and the same not be changed subsequently under any circumstances.
