IIT Bhubaneswar Recruitment 2026: IIT Bhubaneswar invites applications from Indian Nationals for the following time bound assignment for its Central Library.
Vacancy Details (ଶୂନ୍ୟପଦ ବିବରଣୀ)
- Name of the Assignment: Library Professional Trainee
- No. of positions: 01 (One)
- Period of Training: One Year (purely on temporary basis)
Eligibility Criteria (ଯୋଗ୍ୟତା ମାପଦଣ୍ଡ)
- Educational Qualification: First Class in Masters in Library and Information Science or equivalent from a recognized Institute/University having good academic record.
- Desirable: Candidates with relevant Computer Knowledge will be preferred.
- Age Limit: 26 years as on the last date of application. Relaxation for SC, ST, & PD category candidates (up to age Limit – 31 years) & OBC (Up to age Limit – 29 years) will be applicable as per Govt. of India rules.
Salary Details (ଦରମାବିବରଣୀ)
- Stipend: ₹ 23,000/- per month consolidated with no additional perk.

ଚୟନପ୍ରକ୍ରିୟା (Selection Process)
- Selection will be based on a Written Test and Interview.
- The written test will be in English.
- Those candidates who don’t have minimum eligibility qualification and age will not be allowed to sit in written test/interview.
- No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the selection process.

ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶାବଳୀ (Important instructions)
- Nature of Traineeship: Selected trainees will get an opportunity to work in various sections of Central Library as well as on emerging tools and technologies in the Library and Information field.
- Shift Details: They will be working in different shifts (as applicable) including morning, evening and night shifts and also on weekends/ holidays on a rotation basis (six days a week).
- Accommodation: No accommodation facilities will be provided by IIT Bhubaneswar.
- Tenure: The positions will be deemed to be automatically terminated at the end of the completion of their tenure.
- Appearing Candidates: Candidates who have appeared for their final year examination may also apply. Such candidates, if selected, must produce the final mark sheet having passed the examination in FIRST CLASS at the time of joining failing which the candidate will not be allowed to join the traineeship.
