Brief about CTE, Balangir: In order to expand the availability of teacher education programs for students pursuing B.Ed. programs, this institute was established in 1968. Following the Ministry of Human Resource Development’s approval order, the Government of India’s Balangir Training College was promoted to the level of a College of Teacher Education (CTE) on April 1, 1988, in accordance with the National Policy on Education’s 1986 suggestion. This Institute has been a trailblazing hub in the field of teacher education ever since.
This undergrad college, which offers B.Ed. courses as part of its pre-service teacher education programs, is connected with Sambalpur University and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi. Following graduation, in addition to pre-service training, this institution provides secondary school teachers with pedagogical skills for enhancing the quality of teaching through in-service education, extension education, and research in education.

GUIDELINES FOR ENGAGEMENT OF GUEST FACULTY ON CONTRACUAL BASIS IN GOVERNMENT TEACHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION
Higher Education Department. The state’s teacher education institutions are held to the highest standards by the Odisha government. However, according to NCTE, many universities are currently experiencing a lack of teaching faculty. Guidelines for filling such positions have been created in order to overcome this difficulty. This program seeks to address the faculty shortage in a short-term but efficient manner, allowing teacher education institutes to continue offering higher-quality instruction and improved learning opportunities to students.
Selection process:
On the proposal of a committee, the concerned principal will select the Guest Faculty on Contractual Basis (GFC). The Selection Committee will be composed of the principal of the relevant institution. The committee will be in charge of selecting GFC.

According to the eligibility requirements According to NCTE guidelines, viva-voce testing and career marks will be used for selection. The career assessment’s weighting distribution The following is recommended:
Career and Teaching experience = 70 marks
Viva-voce = 30 marks
Total= 100 marks
