Recruitment of Medical Officer under OPSC

Official notification has been released for the recruitment of Medical Officer under OPSC.

Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) is inviting online application from the eligible candidates for the post Medical Officer in Group-A (Junior Branch) of Odisha Medical & Health Services Cadre under Health & Family Welfare Department

Required Educational Qualification:

i) A candidate needs to have an M.B.B.S. or equivalent degree from a medical college or institution approved by the Indian Medical Council,

ii) possess a current Odisha Medical Registration Act, 1961 Registration Certificate.

Age criteria for recruitment of Medical Officer under OPSC:

As of the 1st day of January 2025, a candidate must be at least 21 years old and no older than 32 years old, meaning that they must have been born between January 1993 and January 2004.

With the caveat that candidates who fall into the Socially & Educationally Backward Classes (S.E.B.C.), Scheduled Caste (S.C.), Scheduled Tribe (S.T.), Women, and Ex-Servicemen categories will have their upper age limit lowered by five (05) years, and persons with disabilities whose permanent disability is forty percent (40%) or more will have it lowered by ten (10) years. ndividuals with disabilities who fall under the SC, ST, or SEBC categories are entitled to a fifteen-year cumulative age relaxation benefit.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

A candidate must: —

i) have possessed M.B.B.S. or equivalent Degree from a Medical College or Medical
Institution recognized by the Medical Council of India,

ii) have possessed a valid Registration Certificate under the Odisha Medical Registration
Act, 1961. Provisional Registration Certificate will not be entertained.

ii) have possessed the required Conversion Certificates recognized by Medical Council

of India (MCI) in case of Candidate having Degrees from Universities of Foreign
Countries.

NOTE – (i) The candidate must have completed his/ her compulsory rotatory

internship/ Horsemanship within the last date of submission of Online Application
Form.

(ii) The Registration Certificate under Odisha Medical Registration Act, 1967

must have been issued prior to the last date of submission of Online Application
Form.

Examination Fee:

Exam fees have been waived for all applicant groups in accordance with

Method of Selection :

i) Written tests will be used as the basis for the competitive examination used to fill the positions of Medical Officer.

ii) There will be a single paper with 200 marks for the written exam.

iii) There will be 200 questions, with one (01) mark assigned to each.

iv) The question must have OMR evaluation and be of the objective Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) type.

v) The exam will take three hours to complete.

vi) Incorrect responses will result in negative marking.

vii) A quarter of a mark will be subtracted for each incorrect response.

viii) The Commission will establish qualifying scores for various candidate categories at its discretion.

ix) The curriculum will follow the Medical Council of India’s (MCI) M.B.B.S. syllabus.
