Recruitment at IGIMS Patna 2026: The Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna has announced walk-in interviews for the recruitment of Senior Residents on an ad-hoc basis for a period of 89 days. Vacancies are available in the departments of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology (FMT) and Gynecological Oncology.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification
- For FMT: MD/MS in Forensic Medicine or an equivalent degree.
- For Gynecological Oncology: MS/MD/DNB in Obstetrics & Gynecology or DrNB/M.Ch in Gynecological Oncology.
- Registration: Candidates must be registered with the Central/State Medical Council.
2. Age Limit (as of 10-04-2026)
- Maximum Age: 45 years.
- Relaxations:
- SC/ST: 05 years.
- EBC/BC: 03 years.
- Female Candidates (All categories): 03 years.

Selection Process for Recruitment at IGIMS Patna
Selection will be based on a merit point system out of 100 marks:
- MBBS: 10 marks (minus 2 for each failure).
- MD/MS/DNB: 10 marks (minus 5 for each failure).
- Subject Knowledge: 20 marks.
- Other Criteria: Additional qualifications, Publications, Poster presentations, Academic awards, Specialized training, and Projects account for the remaining 60 marks.
Qualifying Percentile:
- UR: 50th Percentile.
- BC/EBC/EWS: 45th Percentile.
- SC/ST: 40th Percentile.
Important Instructions
- Domicile: Reservation benefits apply only to candidates with a Bihar State Domicile.
- NOC: Candidates currently employed in Government or Semi-Government sectors must provide a No Objection Certificate at the time of the interview.
- Campus Stay: Mandatory stay on campus if accommodation is provided.
- Private Practice: Strictly prohibited.
- Legal Bond: Selected candidates for the FMT department must submit a legal bond regarding the completion of the residency term.
