This drive specifically targets SC, ST, OBC (NCL), and PwBD candidates for the position of Trainee Engineer in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical disciplines.

Compensation & Career Growth
Selected candidates will undergo a one-year training period with a pay scale of Rs. 50,000 – 1,60,000 (IDA). Upon successful completion, they will be absorbed as Engineers in the same scale.
- Total Annual Emoluments: Approximately Rs. 15 to 16 Lacs.
- Benefits: Includes Basic Pay, DA, HRA, Cafeteria Allowance, Performance Related Pay (PRP), Medical Facility, and Social Security benefits like PF and Gratuity.
Selection Process for Trainee Engineer Recruitment at NHPC Limited
The selection is a multi-stage process designed to identify the best talent:
- GATE Score (75% Weightage): Shortlisting based on the best normalized marks from GATE 2024 or GATE 2025.
- Group Discussion (5% Weightage): Shortlisted candidates (up to 5 times the vacancies) will be called for GD.
- Personal Interview (20% Weightage): Comprehensive interview to assess suitability.
- Qualifying Marks: Candidates must secure a combined score of at least 40% (for OBC-NCL) or 30% (for SC/ST/PwBD) in the GD and PI to be considered for empanelment.
